BCHL & KIJHL plus Men’s Premier League since Junior. Since his playing days he has accumulated many years of Coaching and Management experience at the Junior Hockey Level as well as the Sport Business Level. Being involved in Hockey for over 25 years, 5 of which was spent as a Head Coach and General Manager at the Junior Level in the KIJHL. That time was very valuable given him insight to the league from which the Thunder Cats play. Coach Heaven's most recent experience in coaching was last season as co-coach with the Kootenay Ice Major Midgets, of the BCMML. Previous to this he was the General Manager and Head Coach of the Castlegar Rebels of the KIJHL, during that time he accumulated many great successes including Coaching the Top Prospects Team in the 2007 KIJHL All-Star Game, and most currently receiving the 2009/2010 Coach of the Year award for the Neil Murdoch Division. In his time as a Head Coach with the Rebels he accumulated a 99-51-2-10 regular season record and a winning percentage of .648. In addition to his experience in the KIJHL, he has worked as a Head Coach for the IDT player development program offered by the OHA. He have also helped out in the past with a coaching company called Inside Edge Hockey Development based in the Lower Mainland, with this company he worked with young players and coaches on their individual skill development, team systems and other important factors in their improvement
